Recently, during one of such meetings, a relative of the Wajdenfeld brothers shared with us prewar photos from the family collection. Filip, Ludwik and Ewa Wajdenfeld were born in Warsaw to Markus Wajdenfeld and Gustawa nee Biały. The two brothers founded the „Alfa” chocolate factory in 1926 and very soon it started to grow. At the beginning, the factory was located at Burakowska 10 in Warsaw but in the 1930’s it has been moved to Młynarska 26/28. It had also another branch in Kłodawa, where some of the pictures have been taken. The factory was active until the establishment of the Warsaw Ghetto and you can read about it in memories of an employee, Apolonia Starzec in Centropa: www.centropa.org/photo/apolonia-starzec
Filip, Ludwik i Ewa przeżyli wojną i bracia niedługo wkrótce opuścili Polskę i wyjechali za granicę. W archiwum Żydowskiego Instytutu Historycznego znajduje się relacja Filipa Wajdenfelda dotycząca życia w getcie warszawskim.
