The first meeting of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) prioritized the election of a Chair and Vice-Chair. Rachel Pistol from the University of Southampton, who is also the director of EHRI-UK, was elected as Chair. The Vice-Chair is Marianne Windsperger from the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute, representing EHRI-Austria.
During the meeting, the establishment of Working Groups within the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (ERIC) was discussed. Representatives from the eleven National Nodes provided an overview of their plans for the upcoming year. Additionally, EHRI Director Reto Speck announced the resumption of the Conny Kristel Fellowship Programme and EHRI’s training activities this year. A call for applications for both the fellowships and an international seminar will be expected after the summer.
The European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI) is an international initiative that supports Holocaust research, commemoration, and education on a transnational level. The National Node EHRI-PL represents Poland within this research consortium and supports EHRI’s overarching goals by conducting research, remembrance, and educational activities.
