The director of the Jewish Historical Institute, Monika Krawczyk, together with the chairman of the Jewish Community in Warsaw, the Chief Rabbi of Poland, Michael Schudrich, and the directors of, inter alia, The Warsaw Ghetto Museum, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, and the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland, signed a letter of support for the Ukrainian nation.
"Dear Ukrainians,
the Warsaw Jewish community stands in solidarity with the entire Ukrainian Nation in these unimaginably difficult moments of the struggle for freedom and unity of your Fatherland.
We – Jews, especially those affected by the Second World War – are and will be against wars that always bring suffering, misery and death. We cannot and we do not want to be indifferent to the horrors of war and its tragic consequences. We will support you.
Every nation has the right to its own country, self-determination and safe life.
Don't give up!
We are with you! "
