Tonight the holiday of Pesach begins. This is the most important and oldest Jewish holiday. It commemorates the Israelites' exit from Egyptian captivity and is celebrated every year from the 15th to the 22nd of the month of Nissan.

Marks left by a fire, which broke out in the building of the Main Judaic Library after the destruction of the Great Synagogue on May 16, 1943, are still visible on the floor in the main hall of the building at Tłomackie 3/5 Street. A recent renovation revealed that it’s not the only testimony of the events from over 75 years ago.

On August 2, 2022, at the museum of the German Nazi extermination camp Treblinka II, we paid tribute to the people murdered in this place and to the participants of the prisoners' revolt of 1943. The ceremony, co-organized by the Jewish Historical Institute, was attended by Ada Willenberg, widow of Samuel Willenberg, who died in 2016 as the last participant of the Treblinka uprising. Present were representatives of state and local authorities, parliament, diplomatic corps, institutions, associations, the Jewish community, the Righteous among the Nations.
