The closest friend of a Jewish child
Roza Simchowicz was a teacher and a social activist. She dedicated her entire life to Jewish children. In the Warsaw Ghetto, where she helped children living on the streets, she had reached the very bottom of children’s poverty. As a result of disagreeing to set up a barrier separating her from patients, she became infected with typhus. She refused aid from Joint, believing that there are others who have contributed more to the society. She died in late November 1941 and was buried on 2 December
Hanukkah 5782 – why do Jews celebrate?
Among stunning sights of dancing flames slowly burning on a hanukkiah, blessings, songs, driedel, gelt, and latkes, Hanukkah begins on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar. This year, it is the nightfall of 28th November 2021 in Gregorian calendar, and lasts eight days, until the 2nd day of the Hebrew month of Tevet. Although in Judaism Hanukkah is considered a minor holiday, it should be taken to heart and thought about in everyday life.

He was a polyglot; he could speak Yiddish, Polish, Russian and German.

Libelid. Listen to Ola Bilińska's Yiddish love songs
"Libelid" is a set of eight pre-war compositions about different shades and faces of love. In these poetic works come out the Jewish customs, which strongly influenced the emotional and family life of members of the community. The love songs restored to memory from the old Jewish collections resound again in an unusual interpretation by Ola Bilińska.
